Frontier Conflict
Arthur St. Clair's 1791 defeat, the second battle of the Frontier Wars, was the worst defeat in history for the United States Army at the hands of Native Americans. Students will examine primary sources, including St. Clair's report and first hand accounts of three soldiers who were there. Students will attempt to get at the truth of what happened, why it happened, and who was responsible.
